Track Game time
There are two ways in Mingle to track game time.
Option 1: live during the match
The first and most sophisticated option is tracking minutes played live during the match using match control.
Step 1: Add a starting line-up
Open the match > navigate to the line-up tab > click on create starting line
The starting lineup is needed in order to calculate minutes played. Also add your bench players in the starting lineup. This allows you to accurately track minutes played when substituting a player. You can do as many substitutes as you want.
Create your line-up or use the latest know line-up
Adjust where needed
Confirm the starting line-up, don’t forget to add the substitutions
Step 2: Substitute players
You can substitute players in match control. The minutes played for the player that is out of the field will be paused. The minutes played for the player brought on the pitch will be started. We will also show a substitution icon. If a player is substituted multiple times, we will add the number of times besides the substitution icon.

Option 2: add minutes played after the match
Don’t want to use the match timer and rather add minutes played in hindsight? You can simply add the minutes played In the Homebase table, like you would in excel.
In Homebase go to ‘Attendance’ > ‘Minutes Played’ > ‘Table’. Simply type the number of minutes played for each player in the graph and hit save.

Get insights and identify trends
Once you’ve tracked minutes played for each player, Homebase helps you turn that data into clear insights. These insights show how playing time is shared across your team and help you spot patterns over the season.
In the desktop app, you can explore all minutes-played insights in one place.
Team Average
How to find it: Go to Homebase → Attendance → Minutes Played → Table tab
The team average shows the typical number of minutes players play per match.
Instead of using a simple average, Homebase uses the median:
All players’ minutes are listed
The middle value is taken as the team average
This means the number isn’t skewed by one player playing much more or much less than everyone else.
Why this matters
The team average gives you a reliable reference point. It represents what “normal” playing time looks like for your team.
Player Average
How to find it: Go to Homebase → Attendance → Minutes Played → Stats tab
For each player, you’ll see their average minutes played per match attended.
How it’s calculated
Total minutes played
÷ Matches the player attended
This ensures players aren’t penalized for matches they didn’t attend.
Why it matters
Quickly see
who plays more or less than the team norm
Identify players with consistently high or low playing time
Spot early signs of imbalance before it becomes a problem
Use real data to support conversations with players or parents

Minutes played spread
How to find it: Go to Homebase → Attendance → Minutes Played → Table tab
The minutes played spread is shown as a small indicator. It gives you a quick, at-a-glance understanding of how evenly playing time is shared across your team.
What does the indicator mean?

The indicator can show one of three states:
Even: Playing time is shared fairly evenly across the team. Most players are getting similar minutes over the season.
Varied: There are noticeable differences in playing time. Some players play more than others, but the differences are still reasonable.
Uneven: There are large gaps in playing time. A small group of players play significantly more minutes than the rest of the team.
