How do I add and delete a substitution in Mingle Sport?
Substitutions are added and reversed from Match Control.

Add a substitution
Open the match and go to the Overview tab.
Tap Match Control.
Swipe up and tap the Substitution button.
Select the player you want to take off.
Select the substitute coming on.
Set the match minute of the substitution.
Confirm.
Delete a substitution
You can't fully delete a substitution — you reverse it by swapping the players back. The original substitution stays on the match record and a second one is added that flips the players.
In Match Control, swipe up and tap the Substitution button.
Select the player you want to take off the pitch (the one who was subbed on earlier).
Select the player coming back on (the one who was subbed off earlier).
Confirm.
Can I add a substitution before starting the Match Timer?
Yes. You don't need the Match Timer running to log a substitution — useful if you're doing scorekeeping after the final whistle or reconstructing a match later. If the Match Timer isn't running, minutes played aren't auto-tracked for that sub; you can adjust match minutes on events later.
What happens to minutes played when I substitute a player?
When the Match Timer is running and you add a substitution:
The minutes played for the player coming off are paused at the substitution minute.
The minutes played for the player coming on start from the substitution minute.
A substitution icon appears on both players' rows so the match record shows who came on and off.
This is why using the Match Timer during the match gives you the most accurate minutes-played stats — it's doing the maths for you.
How does Mingle Sport show a player who was substituted on and off multiple times?
Each time a player is substituted, a substitution icon is added to their row. If the same player was subbed on or off more than once, we show a number next to the substitution icon indicating how many times they've been substituted. Their minutes played still reflect the total time they spent on the pitch across all spells.
Can I delete a substitution, or only reverse it?
You can only reverse a substitution — Mingle Sport keeps the original substitution on the match record, then adds a second one that swaps the players back. When you reverse, minutes played update from that timer minute: the player coming back on resumes counting, and the player going off is paused. This way the Match Feed and event log stay accurate for anyone watching along.
