How do I set up Match Awards and Match Rating?
How do I set up Match Awards and Match Rating?
After every match, your team can vote for the Players of the Match (MVP, Workhorse, Playmaker) and rate the overall team performance on a 1–5 scale. As a team admin you can customise both: toggle each award and Match Rating on or off, rename awards, restrict who can vote and rate, or change the voting window.
Voting and rating share most settings. The role restriction and the voting window apply to both equally — they can't be set independently. Only the on/off toggle can be set per award and per Match Rating.
To find these settings:
Sign in to homebase.mingle.sport and open your team.
Go to Team Settings → Stats preferences & visibility.
From here you reach MVP Voting and Match Rating configuration.
Changes only apply to future matches — they won't affect matches where voting is already in progress.
Can I turn match rating off but keep voting?
Yes — and you can also do the reverse, or turn off individual awards. The on/off toggle is the only setting that's independent per item:
MVP, Workhorse, and Playmaker can each be toggled on or off in Team Settings → Stats preferences & visibility → MVP Voting.
Match Rating is toggled on or off separately in Team Settings → Stats preferences & visibility → Match Rating.
You can have any combination — voting without rating, rating without voting, only some awards on, or everything off.
Can I turn an individual award off?
Yes. In Team Settings → Stats preferences & visibility → MVP Voting, each of the three awards (MVP, Workhorse, Playmaker) has its own toggle. Disable any award you don't want to use — for example keep MVP but turn off Playmaker.
Can I rename match awards for my team?
Yes. In Team Settings → Stats preferences & visibility → MVP Voting, tap the pencil icon next to an award:
Title — up to 10 characters
Description — up to 30 characters
Renaming lets you match the award names to your team culture (e.g. "Top Dog" instead of "MVP"). Renaming applies to the awards only — Match Rating's label is fixed.
Can I restrict who can vote or rate?
Yes — premium teams (Team Boost Level 1+) can restrict the eligible roles. The role restriction is shared between voting and rating: whoever can vote for the awards can also rate the match.
For example, if you restrict to "Players only", players can vote for MVP/Workhorse/Playmaker and rate the match — but parents and supporters can do neither.
By default, all team roles can vote and rate.
How long is the voting and rating window?
The voting and rating window opens 110 minutes after the scheduled match start time and stays open for 24 hours by default — or it closes earlier if all eligible voters have voted. The window applies to both voting and rating — they share one duration and can't be set independently. Results are revealed when the window closes.
Premium teams (Team Boost Level 1+) can adjust the window duration to 1, 4, 8, 16, 24, or 48 hours. The duration is added on top of the 110-minute opening delay — for example, a 1-hour duration means the window closes 170 minutes after the scheduled match start time (110 + 60).
To configure the leaderboards themselves, see How do I set up leaderboards?. Leaderboards are separate from voting and rating.
