How do I set up leaderboards in Mingle Sport?
How do I set up leaderboards in Mingle Sport?
Leaderboards in Mingle Sport let your team track performance across goals, assists, cards, minutes played, matches played, training attendance, starting team, and match awards. Every month, top leaderboard positions earn Team Awards (e.g. "top scorer of the month"). As a team admin you control which leaderboards are visible and to whom.
To set up leaderboards:
Sign in to homebase.mingle.sport and open your team.
Go to Team Settings → Stats & Leaderboards.
Pick one of three visibility options:
Show leaderboards to all — everyone on the team can see all leaderboards (default). Available for all teams.
Turn leaderboards off — no leaderboards are visible to anyone. Available for all teams.
Show leaderboards to admins only — only team admins see leaderboards; non-admin members see a "leaderboard is hidden" message. Premium feature.
Premium teams (Team Boost Level 1+) can also toggle visibility for each leaderboard individually — see What leaderboards can I show or hide? further down.
Can I turn leaderboards off?
Yes — and it's available for all teams, no Team Boost required. In Homebase, go to Team Settings → Stats & Leaderboards and pick Turn leaderboards off to hide all leaderboards from everyone in the team. While leaderboards are off:
Nobody can see leaderboards or rankings — admins included
The monthly Team Awards messages stop sending
The Team Awards section shows an empty state
You can switch leaderboards back on at any time without losing data — the rankings rebuild as soon as visibility is restored.
If you only want to hide certain leaderboard categories (e.g. cards or minutes played) without turning everything off, that's a premium feature — see What leaderboards can I show or hide?.
To turn match award voting on or off (MVP, Workhorse, Playmaker), that's configured separately on the awards page. See How do I set up Match Awards & Match Rating?.
What leaderboards can I show or hide?
Premium teams (Team Boost Level 1+) can toggle visibility for each leaderboard individually instead of using a single team-wide setting. The categories you can control independently:
Goals & Assists
Minutes Played
Cards
Matches Played
Training Attendance
Starting Team
Awards (MVP, Workhorse, Playmaker)
For each category, choose show to everyone, hide for non-admins, or turn off. This is useful when, for example, the coach wants to track minutes played without making it visible to parents and players.
Note: per-category leaderboard visibility requires a Team Boost. → What is a Team Boost?
Can leaderboards be visible to admins only?
Yes — this is a premium feature. Pick Show leaderboards to admins only in Team Settings → Stats & Leaderboards. Non-admin members will see a "leaderboard is hidden" message instead of the rankings, while admins keep full visibility.
Can I filter leaderboards by period or match type?
Yes. Both the app and Homebase let you filter leaderboards by period (this month, this season, all time). Match-type filtering is currently available in Homebase.
Do leaderboard settings affect Match Awards voting?
No — leaderboard visibility and Match Awards voting are configured separately. The exception: if Match Awards voting is turned off entirely, the corresponding Awards leaderboard (MVP, Workhorse, Playmaker) is also turned off, since there's no voting data to display.
For setting up the awards themselves, see How do I set up Match Awards & Match Rating?.
