How do I change my role in the team?
How do I change my role in the team?
You can change your own team role from the app — you don't need to be a team admin to do it.
Open the Team section.
Select the right team from the team switcher in the upper left corner (if you're part of several teams).
Go to the Members tab.
Find your own name and tap the more button (three dots) next to it.
Select Edit team member.
Change your team role to player, staff, or team support, and tap Save.
Can I change my own role, or do I need an admin?
You can change your own role yourself — no admin help needed. Admins are only required when you want to change someone else's role. The steps above work for anyone on the team who wants to update their own role.
Who can change another team member's role?
Only team admins can change another member's role. If you need someone else's role changed, ask an admin on the team to do it for you.
The person who created the team is the first admin; teams boosted to Team Boost Level 1 can have multiple admins. See How do I set permissions for my team members? for more on the admin role.
To change another team member's role (admins only):
Open the Team section and go to the Members tab.
Find the team member and tap the more button (three dots) next to their name.
Select Edit team member.
Change their team role and tap Save.
What team roles are there in Mingle Sport?
A team member in Mingle Sport can have one of these roles:
Player — active members in the line-up, each with a player profile that holds stats, positions, and match history.
Staff — coaches, trainers, and team managers running the team.
Team support — parents, guardians, or friends who follow the team.
Parent — assigned automatically when you connect to a child's player profile. Parents can RSVP for their child, edit the child's profile, and get reminder notifications. The parent role can be combined with any other role except player. See Managing parent-child relationships.
Can I be both a player and a parent in the same team?
No — player + parent is the one role combination Mingle Sport doesn't allow. Every other combination is fine in the same team. For example:
Parent + coach — a parent who also coaches the team
Player + team manager — a player who also handles team admin
Parent + team manager — a parent who runs the team admin
The parent role is assigned automatically when you connect to a child's player profile, and it can't be held alongside the player role in the same team.
If you play for one team and parent a child in a different team, that's fine — the player-parent restriction is per team, not across your Mingle Sport account.
