Can I change who won an award for a match?
Can I change who won an award for a match?
Yes. Award winners normally come from your team's votes, but they are not fixed. In Homebase a team admin can set or change the winner of any past match's awards by hand.
This is useful more often than it sounds. Nobody voted because everyone went straight to the car park. The votes went to the player who scored rather than the one who actually held the game together. Or a player left the team and you want the record to be right.
How do I change a winner?
Sign in to homebase.mingle.sport and open your team.
Open the match you want to change.
Go to the match's Stats section. You'll find three award blocks: MVP, Workhorse and Playmaker — or whatever your team has renamed them to.
Click the pencil icon in the top right of any award block.
Pick a player for each award. Each one starts on the current winner, so you only change what you want to change.
Save.
One Save covers all three awards, so you don't have to repeat the process for each one.
ℹ️ The player list shows the players of that match, so you can't give an award to someone who wasn't there. Guest players aren't included.
What if nobody voted for that match?
You can still set the winners. Matches with no votes show an empty award block reading No winner yet, and the pencil icon works exactly the same way. This is the main reason the feature exists — a season of matches where voting never quite caught on can still have its awards filled in.
⚠️ Note: Once you pick a player, you can swap the award to a different player, but you can't set it back to No winner yet. If you're not sure who should get it, it's worth leaving the block empty until you are.
Who can change award winners?
Team admins. Editing happens in Homebase, which is an admin-only environment — the same as editing minutes played. Players and parents see the awards but can't change them. → Can I edit minutes played?
Why does a match show two winners for one award?
That happens when voting ends in a tie — more than one player can come out on top, and the block shows all of them. Setting a winner by hand always resolves it to one player, so using the pencil is the way to break a tie.
